Dave Gibbens grew up in the small town of Avenal in Kings County, California. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Seabee before studying engineering. He has worked for firms in California and Arizona and joined Schneider Structural Engineers in 2001.
He specializes in wood-framed and steel-framed structures including retail and commercial buildings, offices, education facilities and medical clinics. He also has experience in the latest economical seismic technologies, as well as cast-in-place concrete and masonry.
Project highlights include the Miramar Community College Field House in San Diego, the Gallup Indian Medical Center in New Mexico, Beach Fleischman offices in Tucson and the Magnolia Hall theatre in Charleston.
Dave is a member of the Structural Engineers Association of Arizona, where he serves on the Code Committee and previously was elected treasurer.
He’s a volunteer mentor with Big Brothers/Big Sisters – and loves to sing.
